The students of the B. Accountancy (Honours) 1st Year class are organising a one-day seminar entitled: "Management Accounting Practices in the New Millennium: an overview of the scenario/s unfolding in our island home". The event will be held on Friday the 6th of February 2004, at the Howard Johnson Diplomat Hotel.

....the christmas gathering
ASCS together with IAESTE and S3 are organising their annual christmas gathering at Signals Bar in the national pool complex at Tal-Qroqq (formerly Camba Wamba) on Friday 19th December.

ASCS FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT 2003
ASCS is organising a football tournament - this is taking place on Saturday, the 1st of November 2003 (public holiday). This tournament will be open to students from all faculties and will take place in the University Sports Complex Syntethic turf grounds.
The tournament will involve the following: 112 players, 25 trophies, 16 teams, 4 groups, 1 winner!
Time: 1 p.m. - 9 p.m. Price: Lm 15

Public Lecture - EU membership & the Maltese Economy
On the 25th February ASCS and KSU organised a public lecture on the effects of EU membership on the Maltese Economy.
The main speakers in this event were University lecture and reknowned economist Profs. Lino Brigulio, economist Gordon Cordina and economist Robert Micallef.

on the 21st of December 2002. Over 600 FEMA students, friends and
guests attended our main annual event where we spent a
night out in great atmosphere with top local DJs, spot prizes and reduced prices on drinks.

ASCS FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT 2002
The ASCS football tournament was held on the last days of December 2002. It was held on university turf grounds and was open to all University students.
16 teams participated in this tournament and similar tournaments are planned for the future on a better more organised manner to cater for an increasing demand.
The winning team of this tournament was "CLASSICS" which scored 33 goals and won all the 8 games it played in this tournament.
The Top Scorer of this tournament was Neville Farrugia.

LM 1. You can collect your T-Shirt from ASCS stand on campus during
Freshers' week. T-Shirts come in three sizes, namely Medium, Large and

ASCS Loyalty Card scheme gives you the oppotunity to benefit
from great offers from our card sponsors. Just fill in the forms on our
stand during Freshers' Week and then collect it from our office. All FEMA
registered students can apply for this card.

TOURS ON CAMPUS
As from this year ASCS are introducing a new system where
all new students will have a fully detailed guided tour around university.
Tours shall commence as from Tuesday 1st October. If you are interested
book your tour at our stand during Freshers' Week.
BUDDY SYSTEM
As you know each year a good number of foreign students join
us. Buddy system caters for the integration process of these foreign
students. Getting used to U.O.M. systems is not always easy, thus those
interested in having a number of students (max. 3)to whom they should act
as a reference point may either e-mail ASCS Chairman on
chairman@ascsmalta.com or visit our stand during Freshers' Week.
